Leon 13.8 miles

Our walk to Leon was supposed to be 11 miles. Leon is the fourth biggest city on the Camino. We had to walk pretty much the length of the city to reach the historical section. Instead of walking to our hotel, we wanted to see the Catedral de Leon (bigger than Burgos and no we did not do the tour). We stopped into Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Mercado, then walked to the Cathedral. We ate a quick lunch then went to our hotel.

Our hotel is Parador Leon (we stayed in a Parador in Santo Domingo that was a restored historical hospital). This one is a restored historical hospital and monastery. Our walls in the room are the original stone walls. Pretty awesome.

We ventured out to the Museo de San Isidoro after we read about the Holy Grail. It is a very interesting history that can be found here:

We wanted the famous tapas of Leon but nothing was open so we came back to our hotel for dinner at 830pm. I know, late… we skipped the pilgrim Mass for food. May need to come back to Leon when I have more time.

Can you spot my shadow?
This was a small diversion off if the trail to get us off the road through Villamiros de Mansilla. The dots are supposed to be stars
