Los Arcos 13.4 miles

We did get to see the ancient history of Estella on our way out. Estella was way larger than I thought it would be. We walked almost one mile before we hit the trail again.

As soon as we got out of Estella we ran into the old blacksmith artist and each bought a small shell necklace. Just after that we hit the famous wine and water fountains of Bodegas Irache winery, that has been providing wine for pilgrims since 1991. We used our shells to drink the wine. Very cool and fun start of today’s journey.

The rest of the walk today to Los Arcos was a series of beautiful small hill climbs. We took the alternative route to Los Arcos called the Luquin way, which is the lesser traveled route, some say it is the more scenic and peaceful option. I personally thought the views were spectacular and it was a semi cloudy pleasant day to walk.

We are a very nice dinner at Mavi restaurant. We walked through Santa Maria square. The Santa Maria cathedral is enormous but we didn’t go in.

Tomorrow is a long walk.
