O Pedrouzo (O Pino) 16.9 miles

We were supposed to walk 12 miles to O Pino. Kathryn came up with the brilliant idea to walk 5 extra miles today to make our walk into Santiago tomorrow only 7 miles. We walked two towns past our hotel, stopped at a cafe, had a victory tinto verano, then taxied back to our hotel. We already have a taxi scheduled to pick us up at 6:45 am to taxi us back to the exact same cafe spot and we will continue on the Santiago. I honestly cannot even believe that we arrive in Santiago tomorrow. Today was day 33 of walking. I have 476 miles registered.

Before I go on and on and on about the big finish, let’s talk about today.

We started our hike out of Arzúa around 645 am. The moon was shining. The temperature was perfect for walking. We had about a 1600 feet total altitude gain so still a little hilly. Adrenalin added an extra spunk to my stride. So the almost 17 miles went super fast for me.

We walked mostly through the beautifully scented eucalyptus trees once again. We did not see any churches today on our walk.

We actually ate dinner at a later time tonight, 5:30 then headed to the peregrino Mass at 7 pm. Last one on the trail before the big one in tomorrow’s Catedral.
