Puente La Reina to Estella 14.5 miles

We made it to Estella. We were able to walk across the famous Romanesque bridge in Puente La Reina as we started our journey to Estellla. It was a beautiful sunny day and I actually walked in a short sleeve t shirt today.

I loved today because of the beautiful sunshine and “she could (finally) cha cha across Spain”. (Inside joke for Lisa and Jenna).

We had gorgeous scenery and the poppies are starting to bloom. I imagined most of the Camino would be a day like today with small rolling hills and not too horrible compared to the hikes in the first few days. I think it will start to flatten out now in terms of mountains and ascents.

Estella is way bigger than I expected. The Historical center of Estella; the church of Santo Sepulcro, the Convent of Santo
Domingo, the Carcel Bridge, Plaza de los Fueros with the street market where you can buy some local specialties like cheese, chorizo, etc. We will see none of this because we are too tired. We ate a nice dinner at 3 pm in the square where our apartment is. We did a load of laundry, hung it outside to dry and now we relaxing.

Off to Los Arcos tomorrow.
