Pyrenees Conquered 11.4 miles

Today was quite an amazing day after a long and freezing night in our no heat rooms. Slept with my hiking clothes on and 4 blankets, hat and coat. The Orisson Refuge works like clockwork day after day: pilgrim dinner, meet and greet, breakfast from 7-7:30 and then they kick you out by 8 am.

The pass from Orisson to Roncesvalles was open and when we left it was drizzling snow.

We walked in a cloud/fog almost the entire hike until the end. It was quite cold (36) and wet but a great and fun day overall. The snow was an extra added bonus.

Nicky wanted me to post the first day mileage to Orisson from San Jean 4.9 miles.

We head to Zubiri tomorrow and it’s still cold and wet outside.

This photo was taken by a friend. Make it bigger and you can see horses. I didn’t see the but heard the bells. I thought it was cows
