Santiago de Compostela 7.8 miles

I actually have tears in my eyes writing this post. I have no plans to get emotional here but I truly cannot believe that our journey to Santiago is complete. I’m sitting inside the Cathedral as I write. We are waiting for the noon Mass.

The walk was very fast to say the least. We were done in 2:28 and no stopping; straight to the Cathedral.

We were greeted by two pilgrims whom we met a few stops ago. We took our iconic photos, then headed to the Compostela office to get our Compostela certificate. We were able to check into our hotel at 10 am. We grabbed a juice and croissant to go and came back for the Mass.

I can write more later but I was just too excited to share the happy ending.

We stay here tonight but our journey continues to the coastal towns of Finesterre and Muxia the next two days. Many pilgrims continue to walk to these places but we are taking pubic transportation. I already packed my trekking poles.
