Villafranc del Hierzo 15.3 miles

Today was magnificent. We had cool walking weather and only about 5 minutes of rain and the sun finally showed up as we entered Villafranc.

We walked through so many beautiful small towns along the way and even got to stop and go to 10 am Mass in Fuentenuevas.

The last several miles were like walking in a photo of the most beautiful vineyards. Breathtaking.

I love our home for the night in Villafranc del Hierzo. Danny is the chef and host. We are in the attic above the restaurant at the Hostal La Puerta del Perdón. We had some local wine (surprise) and then headed to the square of the cute little town, for a late dinner 6:30 pm.

I will include a picture of the history of the town.

We are gearing up for some mountain climbing tomorrow.
